Yeah, so my FX 8350 was stocked at 1.475Volts and was hitting 69C during a 20 minute Prime95 Session

Undervolted a stable 1.375V to 59C over a 30 minute Prime95 Session

FeelsGoodMan

going to run it for 6 hours and make sure it's 100% stable once it's bedtime.

You don't need to run it that long. You'll never use your cpu that intensively for that long ever.

When is the last time you changed the TIM and what cooler do you have?

420 post. Better Screenshot that! :P

That's weird. My 8350 is 1.275 at stock, and 1.4 at 4.6Ghz.

some shitty stock cooler.

I don't know what TIM is. I'm new to messing with motherboard settings. I just learned how to get into UEIF from the start menu lol.

TIM is thermal compound. The gook that goes between the CPU and the CPU cooler.

Max. core temp on an 8350 is 62C. Speccy shows the core temp. I'm only using a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO air cooler. It's a lot better than the stock cooler.

Do NOT run Prime 95 on a stock AMD cooler...you're gonna hurt your CPU that way.

/e What program are you using to check your CPU temps?

Do this...

Get SPECCY here: http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download
...get the FREE version from the: Piriform Link
...Speccy is a really nice system hardware/temperature, information Utility.
...simply install it...and run the program...then post a screen shot of the main page of the program, when posting a problem/question on these forums.

/e Also please tell us make and model of your case.

You can probably solve your temperatures problem with a 3rd party CPU cooler like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. But, I would need to know what motherboard and what case you have, to be able to recommend a 3rd party cooler.

The voltage issue can probably be solved by just resetting your BIOS and then manually adjusting 2-3 settings. Again, I would need to know what motherboard you have, so I could download your manual and find WHICH settings you would need to adjust.

Good ol vishera days. I spent so much time playing with that architecture.

I undervolted the shit out of my 9590. I was able to get an insanely low voltage @ 4.0ghz.

Although I don't see the reason to undervolt unless if you want your CPU to last 10+ years or if you have a heat problem.

I rent. My landlord doesn't fix the AC. I have no AC. Room = Inferno when I play any game at medium graphics

GTX 1060 = no heat

FX 8350 = Inferno

8350 = inferno only with the stock AMD cooler. As I said above a 3rd party CPU cooler can be had for approx. $25 and will definitely calm those CPU temps.

As for the CPU voltage....by default the CPU voltage is set to auto in the BIOS.

It needs to be manually set, turbo needs to be turned off and the CPU fan control needs to be set to maximum.
But I would need a Speccy screenshot and the make and model of your computer case, before I could recommend anything.
