I am trying to play a 4k movie on VLC player but its extremely choppy and shows a new image every 10 seconds. completely unwatchable. what other play is there? or how do i tweak vlc player to make it work?

i updated vlc player and i enabled the gpu/hardware acceleration. nothing worked so far.

You need to have a dedicated GPU to play any 4k video.

Thats not true at all, integrated graphics is sufficient.

Do you have the same issue in windows media player?
If so can you try out PotPlayer?

for some reason i cannot get windows media player to play the video. its a .mkv file. like windows media player will not open the file?

ive seen a few other 3rd party video players but they all seem super shady and untrustworthy. such as 5kplayer.com

what is potplayer?
