Hi,

I recently made a topic for a new gpu, since i have serious fps drops during cod bo3.
While playing i noticed that my cpu ran at 100% during a game!
So now i'm scared that i might be missing something important?

My setup is: (lmk if i missed something)

Mobo: P8P67 pro
CPU: Intel i5 2500k (it has a big cooler on it but i forgot what the name is)
Ram: Corsair vengeance 2x4gb
GPU: EVGA GTX580
Power supply: corsair 950watt
SSD 500Gb
Windows 7 64bit
Monitor Dell Ultrasharp U2410

Someone allready advised that the best bang for buck was the RX480. (*edit)
And i will also be looking to upgrade my monitor for a 144hz monitor.

Could be a CPU bottleneck; Upping the settings/res (will stress GPU more) and or even overclocking a fair bit should help.

Checking temps is the first thing I would do ofc.

Rx 480 is for sure best value, unless you decide to buy used.

What else is open in the background. Also any other games it gets pegged at 100% on?

Old hardware, possibly stock 2500k, very possible. Lots of information is missing to determine actual cause.

Last time it happened the cpu was 50°-55°

Edit:
I did the boost thing when i first got the pc, i dont know how to overclock or anything like that.
Edit 3: Dont know how to chech the gpu load?

Edit 2:
I dont really play much other games at the moment, and if i do i just turn down the setting.
Its just really noticeable in this game since it drops from 40-45 to 10ish

This temps won't mean much if it's pegged out on other games

We need come curves to see the peak load and temperature.
