Is anyone here pretty familiar with Bitcoin mining and possibly even have their own farm?

It's something that I've looked into but it looks like you need 10,000$ + to even begin making a dent.

Electricity is rather cheap where I'm at, so I could see this being profitable..

I did it 5 years ago with 2x 7850's In crossfire.

Pretty sure it just generated $50 in power bill for every $25 in BTC mined from pooled mining.

In my case I just used my computer as a space heater in the winter and stopped doing it in the summer.

/E Just saw power is cheap for you, I mean if it's solar or hydro based it should cost almost nothing.

It's really just about dealing with the heat and noise of a computer going HAM 24/7 in a room in that case.

Hahah. Yeah, GPU mining seems to have phased out and now there's ASIC machines that generate way more bitcoins and are more power efficient.

Yeah my farm would most likely be built into a basement. Get some wire racks in there and call it a day.

I'm just curious if anyone here does it and what it takes for the ROI to be worth it.

You're not going to get a profitable ASIC machine easily and will likely need to invest a good bit more than your listed amount.

tbh mining crypto currency's are not productive anymore.
If you mine anything do lite or dodge coin, least you can actually get something from them.
