So I'm using this old Dell Dimension desktop, Windows XP
Haven't had much luck finding a video card that works, but now I finally have one except I don't have a cord for it... So my monitor is still just plugged into the tower using the onboard gfx. The video card is installed and is set to the 2nd monitor, even though I don't have a 2nd monitor plugged in.
Basically what I'm curious about is if having this video card installed while just using the onboard gfx, will it decrease latency with running multiple windows of a video game? or is that all RAM?
If I have say 6 windows of a game opened and drag a couple offscreen where the 2nd monitor should be, would that decrease latency with the windows I can still see on the primary monitor?

Thanks

the second gpu is not used until it set as default output at which time the onboard will not display an image.
so no moving it off screen will not help you anymore then minimizing it.

except for hybrid crossfire, HD3200/3300 onboard with the HD34xx cards (and I think a few others) that could work together, not bad performance for a media center/light gaming rig, of course, completely outdated now
