Is it noisy are your house or quiet?

open by far if you want more positional detail but also always depends on headphone comparing

If you go open, then you'll hear everything around you pretty much as clear as if you had nothing on your ears. Also, people around you will be able to hear what you hear fairly easily.

If you go closed, then most of the time only you can hear it and noise from the outside will be negligible if there's any at all.

That's one aspect.

Open typically has a larger soundstage & Helps you with positioning when playing FPS games.


I can't stand most closed headphones, I don't like the isolated feel/sound.

no you wont hear everything with all open headphones

it all depends on the headphones

One of the things that surprised me the most when i got my lcd-2's... You can literally hear everything around you like you werent wearing them lol
