Is it worth with 8gb ram?

im kind of interested in just doing it to learn also

i know this chip can go above 4.5 on air

Yeah diff worth doing. Damn 18c your room must be cold.
Could be the fx8320 bottlenecks your 1070 in some gaming scenarios.
What cpu cooler do you use? And what is your stress test temps?

that was right after startup and yah thats my room temp (house temp) i dont like paying for oil


what stress test should i try? i dled msi afterburner but it is not very intuitive

AIDA64 Extreme.

/e Altho, on AMD you can use Prime95 as well.

I prefer aida64, but prime95 should be fine for amd aswell.

this is what i have so far

this is at stock voltage, 3.6ghz (stock is 3.2)




e: should be able to get 4.0 ghz at stock voltage, will try tomorrow

2 potential bottlenecks in the build.

#1 is the CPU which will be helped a TON by overclocking.
Once the cpu is overclocked , the 8gb ram will either cap out and cause stuttering in some games that aren't memory efficient like H1Z1.

also since it's DDR ram, it runs at literally 800mhz until you add a second stick, only once it's in dual channel will it actually get the advertised 1600mhz.
That's a 100% memory speed improvement, which certainly can't hurt.

I'll have to check my ram, and move it to the correct slots
