So every single time that I turn my monitor off and back on, I have to unplug the DP and then plug it back in to the PC or else I will get no picture.

I have to do this literally..

every

single

time.

What could the problem be?

Is that not normal? Does everybody just leave their monitor in sleep or hibernate w/e.

Dunno, The monitor 'idle' mode uses like .3w, So I just leave it on 24/7.

I was looking at BenQ monitors yesterday for someone else. In the reviews a few ppl had mentioned similar problem with the display port connector on the monitor.

Might save ya a lot of time to just call BenQ and ask. Or look up some reviews for your make and model.

Here's the review (from Newegg) that I was remembering...

This review is from: BenQ GW2765HT Black 27" IPS 4ms (GTG) WQHD LCD/LED Monitor, 350 cd/m2 DCR 20,000,000:1 (1000:1), Built-in Speakers, D-Sub DVI-DL DP HDMI

Pros: Everything you can expect from a 1440p IPS monitor
Unbeatable price for the quality

Cons: None so far after 6 months

Other Thoughts: As other reviewers have stated there can be some problems with the monitor not receiving a displayport signal, but this is easily remedied by simply buying an aftermarket displayport cable

AH okay. I am using after market DP from Monoprice, but i think I'll just stop turning it off.

For me anyways, I always look for cables on Cables2Go (too expnsive), then get the model number and Google it, and find the part for a much better price on Amazon or similar.

Monoprice is one of those big warehouse sites that sets cost above all else, including quality. I'm not saying they aren't good for some things, but when you consider the amount of data that a display port cable is carrying, I choose to opt for a slightly better quality cable.
