I'm looking for a simple pair of over ear headphones to use at my desk... mostly for talking to people

I would get Superlux HD681 over AT.

if he could use open I'd go shp9500 all the way if he can go with 60 dollars

they compete with hd558/598

That's why I said HD681 over AT. Those Philips would be best if budget allows it.

What difference does open back make

open back leaks sound and lets sound in

closed isolates more by not leaking sound and hardly letting sound in

open typically has better sound stage by far and that helps for positional sound accuracy

I've gotta get a pair off amazon since I have a gift card. Those Phillips ones look nice but they are more on amazon. Is there anything on there that would be good? I don't mind open back
