Basically, I use an Xbox 360 USB controller to play various games, and lately it will randomly stop working (light goes off, computer makes the device disconnected sound, etc) and I'll have to unplug and replug it to get it to turn on again.
Sometimes after replugging it, it stops working again almost immediately and I'll end up repeating the process of unplugging / replugging over and over until it works, other times it will work for most of my gaming session without a hitch, only to stop working the next day etc.
I have tried using many different USB ports to see if it was one bad port, but that doesn't seem to be the issue, so it's honestly most likely just a dying controller. I'm just curious if this sounds like a common problem that can be fixed, or if it indeed sounds like a dying controller that needs replacing completely, or whatever else. 30 bucks isn't so bad to get a new one, but saving that money is actually pretty big for me as well, and if it sounds like a problem on my computers end and not the controller, it would suck to buy a new controller without learning that first.
Anyway, here's a speccy report just in case any of it ends up being relevant.
