Here's the deal.

I use a 2000w inverter which outputs in modified sine wave

What I want to know is if a pure sine ups will correct the waveform or output in pure sine.

Also would like to know if a desktop would be damaged by modified sine wave power.

At this point changing the inverter is not an option as it is proprietary.

Seeing has most power supplies use a bridge mode rectifier along with an array of filter caps and voltage regulation, the input source no matter how dirty shouldn't effect anything.

Go read up on how a full bridge rectifier works and you will understand why.
