My current motherboard:

Desired Wireless Adapter
http://www.ncix.com/detail/asus-pce-ac68-dual-band-802-11ac-fe-91046.htm?promoid=1010

It looks like the GFX card would cover that slot though that the wireless adapter needs. I'm not home right now but want to order one for when i get back. If the top is the 16X i feel it will cover. Will i be hindered at running on the 8x?

Oh really, I though it had to go in the black one (the one that matches how it slots in) , so it will fit in the 8x or the 4x as well then eh?

Pretty sure it works I could be wrong.

/edit

Well this is just a rollercoster.

From Toms Hardware i gather it will be fine.

Will this dick me though dropping the 16x down to 8x because of shared even though its just a wireless card i wonder.

Also looks to be the case because my PCIE1 slot is covered ill end up putting it in the 8x reducing my 16X slot to 8X due to shared bandwidth. Hmm anyone ever use a PCIE 1x extender?

Or someone reality check me, is there seriously any difference between 16x and 8x for a 1060 .. my gut feeling is no where its not top of the line.

Call ASUS. They will KNOW.

TIP: If you're planning on adding cards to a motherboard...don't get an mATX motherboard.

Well i never planned on having to run wireless. Were moving to a new apt and I cant drill holes into the wall and im at the furthest point from the router location. I have a micro case and love it. It has space its just that one slot is covered. Theres still two slots but it will drop my bandwidth from what i read.

Lol did some quick research all the new bench marks for 2016 with the new cards show absolutely no difference really between 16x and 8x.

.....

Im not saying im moving the GPU. The network card will be put in the 8x slot which will reduce the bandwidth of the 16x to 8x because the slots share bandwidth like any other mobo. It does not matter that it is not a GFX card.
