I recently got a RX 480 4GB for my GF's computer and it's been a HUGE upgrade from her old 770 2GB.
The exact same model just went on sale for $155; The Gods doth tempt me.
Her current rig:I7-2700K @4.3GHZ cooled by a 212+
RX 480 4GB oc'd to 1340MHZ
16GB ddr 1333MHZ
750 watt 80+ bronze psu
120GB SSD samsung
500GB
1080P 144HZ 1 MS monitor
Fractal Define R4
3 140MM case fans (Front, rear, Bottom pointed at GPU)
Some other info: Currently the CPU doesn't bottleneck the GPU (Noticeably) , as the GPU able to stay pegged at 100%
Noob questions: Would the 4GB Vram hold back the crossfire in a major way? IE does it page all 8GB, or is it like oldschool crossfire where it only paged one cards memory.
The CPU and GPU seem to be matched well as they don't hold each other back in the current setup, could the CPU gimp this setup in crossfire?
/E Here is the model if anyone wants in on that deal.
