Anytime I change my bookmark order on the bar after i logout and back in they are no longer in order. I've tried a few things but haven't fixed it. 100 fg for the correct answer.

I just figured out a workaround

Go into Bookmark Manager, select the Bookmark Bar or Folder that's giving you Sorting issues, then select, by holding shift, all the bookmarks in the selected Bookmark Bar or Folder. Then Cut them, they will disappear, then immediately Paste them back. This will clear whatever is preventing the Sort from working correctly.

Worked for me, hope it works for you too

Didn't work. Some stayed, most went into some random position.

are you signed in chrome?

do new bookmarks appear? or does everything revert?

if you change bookmarks then restart chrome, does it persist?

when you change bookmarks and close chrome, is your bookmarks file updated or not?

I am signed into gmail.

Everything reverts back to old. I'm not adding or subtracting bookmarks, just organizing them.

They revert back to prior to change.

Sign into Chrome itself (same login as Gmail). This should save and synchronize bookmarks/etc across all instances of Chrome you sign into, including mobile.
