just installed my new 1070, thought I'd have to update drivers (evga 950gtx to evga 1070) but it says they're up to date.

would uninstalling drivers and reinstalling do anything or just play it how it is?

you need to uninstall the drivers before installing the new card, then install the card, then install new drivers

All nvidia GPUs on the GTX side are all the same.

Will it work fine without installing drivers again? Likely, But It's always better to just spend 2 minutes & do a fresh driver install just in case.

I'd Download Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) And wipe the existing GPU drivers completely, Then install the latest drivers from nvidia (Which were just released today)

I don't uninstall drivers for new GTX card. I have to reboot twice, but other than that....

Well turn comp off once, to swap out the card, then you get to the desktop and the driver hasn't SEEN the new card yet. So I reboot.

I've tried w/o fresh driver install and with...no difference as far as I can see.

The GTX 950 is not on the list of this benchmarking tool...so I used a GTX 960 to compare to a GTX 1070.

Yes..
Da fuq kinda question is this.
Ones two models lower and a series behind.

No need benchmarks
