I need to print an e-text. I am legally allowed to do so, but the publisher prints a copyright paragraph at the top of every page, which overlaps the actual text... making printing pointless.

I need to remove that text from the PDF.

Is there any free software that I can use to edit the text in a PDF?

I use openoffice with a pdf import extension - http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/node/17351

Use whiteout on your monitor.
