So i have a fire fly mouse pad from razer, does it matter if i use the mousepad vertically? will i have the same mouse movements?

Using your mousepad vertically voids the current warranty on your product.

Unless advertised as safe for using vertically I would strongly advise against it.

Yeah it's fine. The laser or optic reads fine either way.
