What are your specs? GPU and CPU are what we're interested in.

Download Speccy (link in the sticky) since you're unsure.

I know what they are and have the program (at work) just no competent enough to say whether they'd run it.

sapphire radeon r9 270x 2gb
Amd fx-8300 3.3ghz

E: just going to go ahead and say yah it's not going to run full.

So the question is new monitor or other parts

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I'm also looking for a new monitor.

Specs:
i7 950
gtx 960
12gb memory

Looking for 24in+ monitor. I'm not opposed to a 144hz monitor if it fits in the budget. I am more concerned about the resolution, preferably 2560x1440.

Budget: $200-250.

Thank you and I hope my hijack is okay.

hijack is fine, it's a related discussion
960 is fine for 1440/60
just won't MAX everything
so you won't get the most out of it but if your next upgrade is a gpu then you'll better utilize it

similar deal with 1080/144 but it's the refresh rate that'll struggle
w'o gsync you might experience some tearing cause 960 won't put out 144hz on 1080 unless you turn down detail settings, even then I'm not sure

basically you're looking at a monitor you may wanna keep for a bit
then upgrade gpu to better utilize said monitor if you desire
instead of short-changing yourself on monitor now only to get a better one later that'll require more gpu power anyways

if you're more concerned with resolution then I'd get 27" 1440/60 now
and could snag somethin like used 970 for around 125 bones or so
somethin like that

of course, idk what you're using it for either so

You dont get tearing when you have less than 144 fps on a 144hz, its when you are slightly above 144 that you get tearing and ive never had it happen

fine
you'll get "juddering"
either way
i doubt a 960 will push 144hz or even close unless you turn down your graphical settings a lot but similar goes for 1440/60
could lower monitors refresh rate setting for vsync
other than that
pick your poison
like i said don't know what he's doing with it either
