so i have a QNIX monitor. it is 1440p
ive often connected my desktop to my tv. and my tv is a 4k tv but whenever i connect to it, it makes my qnix display 1080p. this is fine
but this is a new TV and ive always had the issue of horizontal screen tearing along the middle or bit lower than the middle of the screen. this happens during any fast moving scenes in tv shows or movies.
so to fix this i thought i would change the refresh rate of my computer to see if it fixed it. well it didnt fix it. and not only that, now whenever i duplicate the display onto my tv, now my QNIX is ALWAYS in a weird bordered mode. the screen no longer looks all stretched as if it is 1080p, but the whole display is shrunk and theres a black border around 3 inches thick all around my monitor. this is super annoying. and i can even drag my internet windows off the visible screen, into the black border area....
i first noticed this when i changed the refresh rate from 60hz to a 50hz. and well i changed it back to 60hz but this border wont go away.
i only changed the settings from right clicking on desktop ---> screen resolution ---> advanced settings ----> monitor ----> screen refresh rate.
by the way i am using windows 7. i also have an AMD graphics card. and the new AMD control center is shit. i cant figure out how to find something like screen scaling or refresh rate on the amd control center...
any help is appreciated. thanks!
