Damn that's crazy.

Single handedly reverse engineering things that were intentionally made to be completely impossible to deal with so their competitors like nintendo and sony couldn't steal much of the coding AND prevent consumers from using pirated disks/ cartridges is pretty nuts.

It looked extremely time intensive, he had to spend months on certain things that turned out to be dead ends.
What made it insanely difficult is dealing with the multiple Gpus and cpus on the same unit.

He basically had to figure out that the cpu on the disc drive was basically locked down by the proprietary cd reading software. and had to find a work around to use the Carterage port with a gheto USB thumb drive setup.
