My girlfriends parents took this iPhone 5s to Vietnam to use. They returned and gave the phone to my girlfriend. She took it to the t-mobile store and the guy said "I don't know why it won't work but it won't work".
The phone is t-mobile. It previously worked in the USA. What I'm thinking is it was unlocked for international use. Is this why it wouldn't work here? His answer is unacceptable to me so I'm taking it to the t-mobile store tomorrow. You don't get to tell a customer you don't know. You figure it out.
Her visit lasted all of 15 minutes so I'm assuming this guy is an idiot. Is this accurate? Would it be likely that it was unlocked for international use and now needs to be locked back into the USA?
Oh, his parting words were, "it was probably jail broken too hard".

I spent 3 hours at the Sprint store today waiting to speak to an employee and not being able to get through to customer service via phone. I think I just have a dislike for mobile phone employees today.
Still, that answer really isn't acceptable to me. He is paid to do a job. He didn't and then brushed her to the side. I'm just tired of people not doing their fucking jobs.

Can you put a different SIM card in it? Back up the phone and factory reset it?

It's an iPhone 5s. I'm not really sure that they use SIM cards. I'll take a look tomorrow.

You don't know if a phone uses a sim card, but you question a guys response about his job.
I think I found you're problem.

There's a small hole on the side of the phone, use a paper clip to push in and the sim tray will come out.

Would you be OK with his answer?
