But does he really want this? I've read up some on this and it seems like extenders have different SSIDs so you can't automatically transfer to the better WiFi connection depending on where you are in the house. You'd need to manually on your phone/tablet.

True repeaters actually allow this, but are expensive.

Is this link below something that would work? We have FiOS. Looking around on Google images it seems like we have the Actiontec router with the red bar.

We also have a wireless printer on the network. Which means an extender wouldn't let you use it if you're not on the right connection?
