I have a ModMic 4.0. It's quiet on TS3 for some reason. It's fine for recording in anything that isn't TeamSpeak. Will a cheap ASUS Xonar sound card (~$40-50) allow me to amplify it without making it sound like ass? I could enable automatic gain control, but it really makes the mic sound like shit.

E: I have tried everything to make it louder. The only option left is to try a sound card. I'm wondering if it will even make a difference.

You configured windows and ts3?

Also you try both front and rear ports

Yes. As much as I can. I've tried it with and without RealTek drivers, too. No go.

Done that.

Doubt getting another sound card will fix your issue. Sounds like TS is fucking up somehow.. Maybe it's time to switch to a good VOIP program.

If that was an option I wouldn't be posting here.

I read that the sample rate and such doesn't matter. Let me know what exactly to s/s and I'll do it.

snip of all settings unless you tried them all with different variables, on and off etc

I have had to disable things many times in sound area, prolly because I have had zxr, o2 combo, x7, fiios, etc connected many times all seemed to screw something up for little bit
