From a gaming aspect if i wire into a time warner modem / router combo vs a self bought modem that i hook into a self bought router... will i notice a difference
This is for gaming like 40 man raids when bloodlust pops. Or is it more of a cpu/gpu thing (lag wise)

Just get a reputable router and wifi pcie card for ur desktop. I used to have my own modem/router and run an Ethernet cable to my desktop. I moved and was forced to use wifi and never had a disconnect due to wifi router/pcie card issues.
If u buy shit product, it will suck.
