I currently have my 4690k Oc'd to 4.0ghz and i am running a nvidia gtx 760. Was looking to possibly get a gtx 1060 but not sure if that would cause bottleneck issues. Any recommendations are helpful. Thank you

no bottlenecking, 4690k would be able to serve even the 1080 or pascal titan

Thanks for the feedback, I ended up just going with the 1060 6b. Another questions I was wondering is it worth updating your bios? I currently have a GA-Z97MX-Gaming 5 running the F2 version which is the first release bios. I have zero problems with my PC currently but I wasn't sure if it was worth flashing and if do I do each version or only the latest? Once again any information given is greatly appreciated. Thank you

if you have no issues with your current computer i wouldn't bother updating the bios unless there's a currently disabled feature that it enables, that you want
