Does having a good router affect the Internet speed a lot?

I'm paying for 100 mbps and speed tests are showing it at like 10-25...

Yes and no.

pretty much all routers can handle up to a 100mbps connection. If your net is higher than that, It can cap it if you have a shit router.

Unless the router is very old / breaking.. getting 10-25mbps on a 100mbit connection.. Is most likely something on their end. Call a tech out.

I have been talking to them via email and they said everything at their end is good. The router does look old and someone told me it was a shitty one.

The router is the modem. And yeah it is faster directly plugged in but my provider told me that is normal.

I don't know that means.

I am like 12-15 feet away with one wall separating me from it.

Do you know if you're using 2.4ghz or 5ghz wifi?

Just drill a hole in the wall & run a line to your pc lol
