i bought a laptop a while back got it brand new when i got it there was a hard drive problem so the guy came in fixed it

but i always get an error popup saying windows is not activated ? i tryed the option to turn it off in settings but it wont work cuz it says its not activated
im running windows 8.1 lmk if anyone can help ? will pay some fg ofc

Just call Microsoft and tell them you had some hardware repaired, and you can't get Windows to activate. They will activate it for you.

was the hard drive replaced?
Chances are you have an illegal copy of windows.

Do you have your product key? It is usually located under the battery or on the bottom of the laptop. If you don't have it I can provide a link to a script that will save your product key to a .txt file on the desktop.
If you have your product key ready...

Press the Windows key on your keyboard and type CMD.
Now right click on the CMD application that pulls up in Windows search and select "Run as administrator".
Select "Yes" at the Windows UAC prompt to continue.
Next, type the following command: slmgr -ipk
Directly after -ipk press the spacebar and enter your product key.
example: slmgr -ipk 123456789

Lastly, press enter/return and the activation should proceed.

If this doesn't work, your best bet is to call Microsoft as stated previously. Good Luck.
