ayyy wassup any of the old people still here?


any who, looking to upgrade my crap old 570 from when i built my pc. still running an i7 2600k and just wondering if there would be any throttling on a newer card like a 1070 or anything or if the processor is still decent.

But there is some comparison of sandy vs sky out there with 1080p and 4k
Of course sky lake will give more performance

For gaming, the 2600K is on par with the 6700K...see the gaming benchmarks at the bottom of this comparison:

lower resolutions will show the bottle neck in the cpu.
while at higher res they will run closer together with a mild oc.

Personally I'd get the 1080gtx since I run 3x1080p and dip to low 70 fps on ultra.
your higher res will benefit from the 1080 and the bottle neck will be minimum.

your also going to want to oc to like 4.4ghz or higher aprox for best performance.
