Hi friends, I'm looking to buy a new laptop. This machine will be the jack of all trades. Yes I am aware that I can build a PC for much cheaper, but the issue is it will lack the portability and I like to have access to all my stuff wherever I go. I have decided on the "NEW" Razer Blade 2016 laptop.

Please help me decide which resolution to get. What are the pro/cons of each? Would there be any compatibility issues with the higher one?

PS. I never use touch screen; in fact I will probably disable it. If I were to get that the higher resolution one, it would be purely for "better pictures." (Price is not an issue. I just want whatever in your opinion is "best.")

Better resolution is more smooth images. Never heard of 3200x1800.

But 1080 is more than fine for 14". And softer for your gpu.

I'd never want higher than 1080p on14". Even if it's close to you, everything would be tiny.

Would pictures and stuff be smaller with the higher res one? I thought higher res just made your "gaming" pictures more clear, i didn't think "icons" and stuff would be smaller

Yeah and huds in game would be smaller as well.
Honestly 1080p on such a small monitor is more than smooth enough. 1800p would just mean you wouldn't be able to run games maxed out. What the price difference on them?

i remember when I was looking at laptops, QHD just kind of seemed like a gimmick rather than useful

but idk if its changed with new gpu's and whatnot

$2400 for the Full HD
$2700 for the QHD+

Here is the link to the laptop as well: http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-systems/razer-blade

QHD+ is better ofc

anyone saying you shouldnt get it because the icons look small kinda silly, could always change resolution if you dont like it that "small"

depends why you want the HD anyways though... turn high res on for watching or something and turn it down for when ur playing and want the icons bigger..

just to be clear i dont think the small icons are bad, remember 800x600 computer icons? those looked huge compared to 1600x900

Resolution scale can be changed so icon size does not matter; if the machine is meant for gaming, no sense jumping on QHD since the GPU would not provide enough power in modern titles, native resolution always looks better anyhow so dropping the QHD to FHD in a game won't look as great.
