Computer was turned on botting d2 literally 24 hours a day for a year, before that it was mainly used for bottimg and bery very rarely turned off. Must be nearly 4 years old
Recently i turned it off and had alot of trouble getting it to even turn back on to the point where it would let me boot in safe mode or reformat. Since then reformatted twice and been turning it off every night and is only on for 2 or 3 hours at a time. Yesterday it refuses to turn on. instead making beeping noises or just nor even triggering the screen or keyboard to light up. After about 50 restarts got it to windows logo but then black screen. 100 or more restarts later can't get it to trigger screen or keyboard.

Can this be fixed somehow or is it time to get a new one?

I'm not going to be botting anymore I think (but maybe it would be good to have it as an option). I paid 2k for my computer brand new custom built for gaming but am not willing to spend so much again seeings as I only play 2 to 4 hours a week now and it's only dota 2. I did use to run a plex server as well for streaming movies to my tv which I guess I'd like to do again which means probably never turning it off. I've read it is cheaper to build your own, true? Is anyone willing to look at a few websites and pick parts for me to purchase?

http://www.msy.com.au/home.php
http://www.austin.net.au/?gclid=CL3WhfbF_c8CFYSWvAodXmEJwA

I've always hated laptops but am willing to change now I guess but I'd use a screen and wireless keyboard/mouse.

Please let me know roughly how much I'm looking at spending. I can't give my computer specs at moment cos I can't get it to even turn on.

Desires are able to run dota 2 highest settings with no problem, small case preferably.

Can i recycle parts of my pc into the new one like the 4 year old ram? and maybe the fan as that's quite new only 6 months

It's cheaper to build your own like 99% of the time unless u don't have ppl that know what they're doing when picking your parts :)

Your requirements aren't that high, so something like this should be feasible - all we need is you budget and location. Your link points to AU so I assume that's where you live - as such, do you know which site(s) you are likely to buy from or if there are any stores near you that have computer parts?

Msy is near my office and austin is close enough to my office. Western australia is state
City is perth.
Suburb preferably osborne park, balcatta, perth, joondalup.

I'm not sure what kind of budget. As cheap as possible I guess that will run dota 2 highest settings with no issues.

Is one of these cheap 400 dollar computers to low spec?http://www.megabuy.com.au/custom-build-desktop-pcs-c1286_1288-f105772.html

If it's only going to cost an extra 50 to 150 I'd rather buy premade to avoid risk of issues but if it's going to save me a good amount then I'll build.

Found my comp specs in an old post. May 2011 is purchase date. How much would it cost to be on par with current pc note it's 8gb ram not 4 as this suggests

Asus p8p67 pro mb, socket 1155, intel p67 chipset, 4x ddr3, sata3, sata2, esata, raid, firewire, usb3.0, 8ch audio, gblan, crossfire/sli

Strontium 4g kit (2gx2) ddr3-1600 pwn gaming series overclockers ram

Western digital caviar black sata2/sata3 (1tb) 1000gb/7200rpm/ sata3 / 64mb cache/3.5" hard disc drive [wd1002faex]

Sapphire hd6950 2g gddr5 pcie

Lg gh22ns50 DVD writer (lots of words and doesn't seem important so not gonna write)

Coolermaster haf rc-922 med tower - no psu, black USB, FireWire, esata, audio, high air flow, atx

650w "corsair" hx-650 atx power supply, 80plus silver certified, single 140mm fan, flat modular cables, universal ac input 90~264v, over current/voltage/power protection, under voltage protection

Because you ruin game for the rest of us...

How many beeps when booting? It will tell you what part is having issues.

I'll try see if it will beep again 99% of time it doesn't even beep it just makes noises like it's turning on bit never activates screen or keyboard. I'll try tomorrow when I'm home from work. But i was wrong it was bought Feb 2011 so that's nearly 6 yr old.

It really depends on what is not working inside your current PC.

Your setup isnt bad. If there was nothing wrong with your computer and it was working I would replace the GPU, RAM, and CPU and youd probably be able to run Dota just fine.

Oh and I would get an SSD as well. HDD only good for movies and music.

Some people saying it is motherboard that's the problem and just to replace that as rest of my build is solid still. Does this sound like a good idea?

If so what motherboard to replace with? Someone said same as ive got already
