Don't monitors have to have it as well?
Vsync is a software setting that caps your frame rate at the maximum refresh rate of your monitor (Guessing 60hz, So 60fps)
Tearing typically happens when your framerate surpasses your monitors refresh rate, AKA 100fps on a 60hz monitor.
The monitor hardware is called Gsync (For nvidia), It does the opposite of Vsync, With Gsync the monitor refresh rate (Within 30hz-60hz or 30hz-144hz depending on monitor) Changes to match the current framerate. So if you're playing at 50fps your monitor is at 50hz to match it.
Gsync is great for 1440p/4k monitors, But is a waste for 1080p IMO
