Hello, maybe somebody will recognize these symptoms:

when im turning on my PC there is a beeping sound and some hissing (xD) sound... if i turn it off immediately, on next time loading i get a message "bla bla bla last time your PC overheated bla bla bla"
BUT!
when it loads up completely, the scary noises are gone and everything seems fine :o and it works so far with no problems until i turn it off again until next startup

i have a random PSU so my sixth sense blames it but i have nothing else to back this claim up by, so any thoughts and ideas on the situation and its cause are appreciated

some PC specs because why not:
i7 860 @ 2800Mhz
Geforce GTX 260
8gb DDR3 SD
Intel DP55WB
rand PSU
everything else probly rand crab too

wat do u think is overheating at startup?

Well, next time you get it to run, do this....

Get SPECCY here: http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download
...get the FREE version from the: Piriform Link
...Speccy is a really nice system hardware/temperature, information Utility.
...simply install it...and run the program...then post a screen shot of the main page of the program, when posting a problem/question on these forums.

Whats the beep sequence?
How many short / long beeps?

If its over heating, then reapply thermal paste.

it's probably just your computers default safety features signaling a failed oc or just too hot.... were you overclocking or maybe just a muggy room and bad air cooler.
I know for a fact at standard settings my blue screen will pop at 55c
with that being said,
• are all your case fans working
• is dust removed?
• if overclocking try lower settings.
• get a better cpu cooler
• try and relocate pc to a better circulated area
• get the software CPUID (safely, some come with viruses)
this software will tell you all your used percentages cpu and gpu along with temperature

and on another note what coolers do you use, and is this a custom set up?

I agree listen to the BEEP seq, this will explain what might be wrong, as everyone else said replacing the thermal pace and checking your cooling system I would start there, next put a PSU in there that matters if your saying RAND PSU, it has a chance of not being powerful enough for the type of use your trying for. This also would cause your parts to overheat, due to not getting proper power which may cause a short!
