I'm trying to find a way to evaluate my old laptop and if it's possible to sell it.
I tried some websites around but they just have a limited selection of brands and none got mine.

It is a Clevo workstation 17", not the tiniest laptop around but very solid, resistent.
Black polycarbonate and alluminium chassis basically flawless.
Screen is 17", full HD, no glare, 85%+ Color Gamut.

CPU: Intel i7-4900MQ Processor (8M Cache, up to 3.80 GHz)
GPU: nVidia Quadro K3100m 4 GB DDR3
RAM: 32 GB CL9 - 1600 Mhz

HDD1: Samsung 840 PRO 256 GB
HDD2: Toshiba 1TB 7200 RPM 32 Mb Cache

BDVD RW Reader/Writer

USB: 3 (+1) x USB 3.0 (SuperSpeed USB a 5 Gbps) 1 x USB 2.0

1 x Display port 1.2 - 4K
1 x MiniDisplay port 1.2
1 x HDMI (1.4a, HDCP)

eSATA: Combo S.ATA III / USB 3.0, power USB
FireWire: Mini IEEE 1394a [Texas Instrumets]
Audio: 1 x Audio Out (7.1 CH)
1 x Microphone In (7.1 CH)
1 x Line In (7.1 CH)
1 x S/P DIF Out (Digital)

LAN: RJ-45 LAN 10/100/1000
WLAN: Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 (Dual Band, 867Mbps, 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n) + BlueTooth 4.0

CardReader: 9in1 (MMC/RSMMC/SD/SDHC/SDXC/Mini-SD/MS/MS Pro/MS Duo)

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64

I'd need an approssimative quote in € or $, thank you! :)

Well I paid it 3.5k euro 3 years ago, to be honest! :D
As a reference the equivalent DELL workstation would have costed me 5+ k euro.

However thanks for the kind reply!

3years ago, =no warrenty on parts, i.e value is in the eye of the beholder, since parts start needing replacement after 3-5 years of use. This really is up to you and who you sell it to, you could take 1/2 off every individual part, or break it apart and sell it little higher, or drop your price completely and sell it as a full unit. In my personal experience just because someone paid a lot for something doesnt mean they had taken care of it, not saying you don't just pointing out facts! Most people who buy these types of things don't know what they are getting and get burnt because parts begin to fail. I'm not going to quote a price because you may feel insulted, but go on ebay and look at desktop workstations they sell for about 500 bucks, or barebone kits on ebay with the processor and mobo + tower you can spend 500-600 on a top notch starter pack.

Makes sense to me although I believe 500 bucks would be quite underpriced for such kind of machine.
You are also right that most people who purchase such thing don't take care of it and, of course, that's just my word.
If it may help I can say that I am a professional graphic designer and I purchased that machine specifically because I needed it for my job. Yep, not an apple fan here. I need brute power for 3D renderings and huge memory to handle big files while browsing with various Adobe softwares.
In few words I am not the kid who purchased such thing to play, I am (sadly) in my 30's already and I can tell you I take care of what I bought with my own money.

However I'll follow your advice and do a reverse search by googling what used laptop I can find for 500-1000€.

Thanks! :)

I think your approach of this is certainly the best way of going about it! I don't try to play devils advocate on anything, just certainly want people to buy/sell/spend within their means and get the best over product I will agree it maybe more then 500 dollars, I just know this a starting point for the ones I see, with you being a GFX designer makes me believe you were more Ram intensive work, so this stress might be on the ram replacement first! Otherwise I agree your going about this in the right mindset!

Frankly speaking I prefer a direct approach as your rather than playing around with words.
Yes I needed that amount of RAM because I work with it daily, surely not to run the latest games :D The only two games I have installed here are D2 and UT4, nothing very fancy! ^^

Also I would like to sell it in order to buy a more powerful replacement. This machine still works smoothly and I believe I will keep using it for a while. I'm just looking ahead for when I will decide to buy the new one :)

Playing around with words also gives you the best decisions for what you should do in this case! Replacing it as you and I both know will cost some money a new workstation can be rather spendy, which I do a lot with servers, (I try to build all my servers and use w/e the client wants to the OS system) with it usually being heavy into ram! So I completely understand, I would just set your low as high as you can, so when you take your loss its not much less then what your asking price is, say of 800euro

With you saying apple scares me a bit more, because apple OEM product replacements can run higher for a older product as well like a screen replacement, Not that will stop the value because people will pay for the APPLE name.
