hey fellas/felladies quick question.... I'm going to be building a pc in a little bit and I was wondering if I could wear some really tight rubber gloves. every where I've read says it's a bad idea, but is it with an anti static band? I'm a pretty moist guy and my hands get clammy, so I'd rather not be washing my hands every 10 minutes and letting them air dry
You don't NEED to wear rubber gloves. If you're really that sweaty, just keep a hand towel nearby.
As for static, just install the power supply first, plug it in with the switch on the back turned OFF. Now you can discharge any static in your body, by just touching any bare metal part of the case.
The wall outlet (via the power supply) provides ground to the computer chassis.
