Hey guys, so i have someone whos offering me an enticing trade on gtx 780 ti with a single broken fan blade.

Now according to the internet a broken blade will ultimately wear a fan quicker and cause it to stop working/produce noise much, much sooner than one without a broken blade.
he says he's it had the blade broken and working fine for 8 months already with no issues.

I have full access to this GPU for the purposes of testing temps/noise etc before completing the trade.
I'm just wondering what you guys think and if anyone has any experience.
It's tougher to gauge IMO because those twin frozer fans have like 12 blades on them so I am wondering if that would make a broken one less significant than on a fan with less blades, since it should in theory create less of an imbalance.

Let me know if anyone has any insights on the matter. My goal is to resell it for the profits so I would like to know how risky you guys think it is (provided i find its working with no issues)

Replacing is an option I have considered. However I do not necessarily think the gains will be worth it. I can probably sell this for close to the same price in it's current condition (that is, like 150 vs the maybe 170 or so on craigslist), as I could if Paid 20 bucks to repair it, granted I save time.
thanks for the fan info, you have saved me the trouble of remembering it

I think you may be somewhat more confident of selling as-is, as you should be.
Just because you will buy it, does not mean others...will.

Good luck, either way. :)

Well I am here for the perspective :)
Why don't you tell me Ghot. If you were looking on craigslist for a decent bargain, would you pay 150 for this gpu?

I doubt anyone would want to buy it with a broken blade, The RPM on those fans are so high it causes SEVERE vibrations, Noise & Can eventually damage the card. Even if someone wanted it as is, They'd most likely try to price gauge you for it having a flaw.

I'm a bad person to ask. I try to avoid used computer parts at all costs.

But if I were looking for a used 780 Ti, I would definitely look for one with zero damage of any kind.

I'd never buy a gpu with a broken fan unless I planned on removing the cooler.

I'm not Ghot, but no.

I'd rather pay like $20ish more for a GTX 1060.
