It'll run. But these are desktop requirements. How it will do on a laptop...with a dual core CPU... ??

with hyperthreading isnt the dual "kind" of like a quad??

edit: with turboboost i can hit 3.1

I don't think i5's have hyperthreading. I believe that's the reason for i7s.

Even if they did, the system requirements call for a 4 core, which, if HT, would have 8 threads.
So either way.

Yeah, but then the system requirements call for a 4 core Intel, which would have 8 threads. So you're kinda screwed...either way.

But you can always try it on your laptop.

The quick explanation is that all Core i7 CPUs use Hyper-Threading, so a six-core CPU can handle 12 streams, a four-core can handle eight streams, and a dual-core can handle four streams. Core i5 uses Hyper-Threading to make a dual-core CPU act like a four-core one, but if you have a Core i5 processor with four true cores, it won't have Hyper-Threading. For the time being, Core i5 tops out at handling four streams, using four real cores or two cores with Hyper-Threading.

I still think the easiest solution is to just try BF4 on your laptop, then you will know. :)

word, no biggie, just a time killer really.

you got any games that are fun and arent really gpu/cpu extensive. Been having a lot of down time on the job and need something to do. Played like every fun app on android haha.

edit: steam games? downloaded d3 and it seems to run fine.

I got Doom I, Doom II and the TNT and Plutonia wads, as well. :)

/e I also have chocolate Doom, which will allow me to run them on any Windows comp. I think they are great time killers, but I was raised on old games. :)
