Appreciate any help and if you know somewhere better I could post this feel free to suggest as I need answers soon. Just started a remote job O_o.

Over the past few days I've started running into my computer shutting itself down at semi-random times. First time was while playing poe for a couple hours(the day before I'd been playing for 8 straight hours and playing videos). Second time happened just starting poe, so I troubleshooted and ended up having things work.

Third time just happened while clicking on a video link in curse while I had a stream up on my browser(I keep many tabs open so a lot of usage).

That got me thinking I'm in over my head and this isn't poe. Temps seem fine on everything that I've checked, and I've done more intensive stuff even post the shut downs starting without triggering a shut down, so it's not 100% to replicate the issue. No bsod, no sounds, all fans seem to be working. Just a complete shut down as if my power had gone out in the house. Worth noting the front of my case has a blue light that flashes occasionally and I noticed it was still working after this latest shut down.

It will not immediately start back up either, I have to wait a while, and then unplug, plug it back in and it starts up no issues.

I'll add my specs under here and an image of my voltages/etc.

Specs:
Motherboard: MSI 970A-G43 with AMD 970 chipset
Processor: AMD FX 4130 quad core
Memory: 8GB Kingston Hyper-X Black Dual Channel
HDD: Western Digital 1GB
DVD-RW - Lite-On 16x DVDRW
Power Supply: Thermaltake TR2 600Watt
Video Card: EVGA Geforce GT630 2 GB DDR3
Case: Thermaltake v4 Black Edition
Wifi card: TP Link-WN751ND

Looks like your power supply is going bad.

You only have 3 volts on your 5v line and you have 14 volts on your 12v line....not good.

/e Btw, that blue light on your case, is just to indicate that your hard drive is doing things. It's an activity light.

Don't trust hwmonitor for reading voltages, 90% of the time it is wrong.

Any idea what would be a better way to check?

Should be more accurate stats from AIDA, not sure if I got all the right boxes checked but I got all the voltage ones.

Note that this is under zero stress, and the shutdowns have all been occurring under stress.

Your bios would display the most accurate voltages outside of taking your PSU leads off (24 and 4/8 pin) and measuring it with a volt meter.

I would say your power supply is bad.

The only guarantee would be a power supply tester.

Not modular, but this is the cheapest power supply (with innards made by Seasonic) that I could find.

/e Gimme a second...lemme try HWMonitor on my comp...I already know that AIDA has my voltages shown correctly....

Mine both read the same...and good.

However, there is a chance it could be something different. Could be a lot of things...

But when I see a 1.5v difference, and random shutdowns...really random...I tend to think the worst.

Another way to check is swap it out for a known good power supply. Have someone with a power supply tester....test it.
