By Garth VERIFIED BUYER I purchased this same drive 4 years ago for a DVR receiver. It worked nicely during that time until the controller on the HDD failed. This is common for HDD's when they final do fail but a good HDD normally lasts a lot longer than 4 years. I took apart the case to see if the drive worked on a computer SATA interface and it did not. What I noticed was the drive had the WD Green label on it meaning it's the more quiet, less power using yet only 5,400 RPM HDD. Too bad WD doesn't offer these with the Black HDD
