So I am trying to clean everything and reset Windows 10 on my desktop, but when it restarts and boots up into the installer, I am unable to use my mouse or my keyboard. Therefore I am unable to tell it that I want it to format all drives and continue on with the setup.. I'm at a loss, has this happened to anyone else?

It's usually a better idea to just delete the partitions and format, when going back to an older operating system.
Ofc, this means you will need to have a copy of the older operating system, and it's CD key.

Can download iso and if you upgrade from a previous windows you just need its key as its now a windows 10 licensed key unless you revet in 30 days.
I'll agree with the format though.

Hell with windows 10 you don't even need a key to install just to activate it to get technical.

Yeah, I know.

I just don't understand what the OP is trying to do.

A clean install of Win 10, or a reset to a previous OS.

/e Ofc, Microsoft doesn't help. Using the word "reset" to mean both a repair install, and reverting to an earlier OS.

Windows 10 has a reset option to fresh install (not a true fresh install) with or without files like a laptop has a recovery partition.

Yeah, again, I know. It's what used to be a repair install.
Still don't know if OP means reset, or revert.

/e I've never known any MS reset or repair function to actually work, or better yet, actually be better than a format and a clean install.

/ee For that matter...a clean bare metal install, always works best.

Reset option from 8 8.1 and 10 don't require iso
Its nice quick fix just requires quick clean up of old files
