Found a Asus X99 Deluxe mobo with a 40% discount because its missing its fan hub and original cables.
would it be worth buying it?
pretty new to pc building lol I'm assuming the fan hub is where you plug your fans in on the mobo?

Yeah it's one of these

The motherboard has 5x fan headers. So it's not needed.

You would need a ehuasiast cpu for the socket tho. The 6core E models.

Personally, I wouldn't buy used motherboards...especially ones that have anything broken.

Indeed they are. And performance in games can actually be worse because of the lowere clock speed. No games I know of utilize more than 4cores.

What are you going to use your PC for?

Motherboards are too easy to mess up. All it needs to kill a motherboard, is a slight "flex" to the motherboard, and it'll crack the internal solder runs.

50% off is only a good deal...if it still works.

/e I would ask the seller, why he/she, didn't just RMA the motherboard. ^^

Gaming and AutoCAD/Inventor/Solidworks maybe a little bit of streaming

I'll just look for a different mobo, this has about everything I want though.

but I mean if it comes with the regular warranty then it'd still be worth it wouldn't it?

and it's from a website like newegg.

You would have to check, but I doubt that a motherboard warranty is transferable.

/e Oh, it's an ASUS motherboard. They have to be registered, to even do an RMA. So, the warranty is not transferable.

I'm pretty much steering away from this mobo at this point, great deal but then the CPU price is kinda making it look not worth it
