would this be a good deal just to have for school? or is it better to just save for a think pad t460?

It would work fine for school. Thinkpad are always nice though.

I just bought the exact same model but with 8gb of RAM for $630. What you're looking at is a good deal.
Been using it a significant amount and can't say enough good things about it.
Great keyboard. Great mouse. Great screen. Fast boot.

/e might be more expensive for me because I'm in Canada. (Remember our dollar is at 0.76)

Yeah, if you're buying a device you need to depend on, don't buy used.

Nothing wrong with used stuff if they are not damaged.
