Anyone have any tips for getting this certificate I have to acquire on within 90 days. I have heard it is difficult and most of the brain dumps on the internet aren't up to date. Any tips or what I should expect from anyone that has taken this test would be greatly appreciated!

Don't use dumps man, they devalue the certifications so many work hard for.

Check out the professor messer videos(they're free), that might be all you need. If you want lots more resources, check out tech exams dot net for good leads on other stuff materials. The rest really isn't that bad, but if you're starting with zero experience it could be tough. Seriously though, it's mostly concepts and theory, nothin too complex.

So results for my tests took the test got a 730... not to bad felt confident the questions are very weirdly worded. Today i retested after studying non stop derrill gibsons book, taking practice tests watching professor messer videos. I got a 722. This test is very hard i am a system administrator I don't know what to do next. Thinking about dropping the $1700 for a course. This Exam is ROUGH.... gotta get 750 to pass

Bummer. What were your weaker areas? Did you excel in any but do poorly in others? The score sheet can be a good tool to use to guide your studies in the future. You're SO close already, don't give up!

Check the exam objectives carefully, and if there's anything there you don't feel confident about google it. There are lots of good videos on youtube and cybrary, and probably many other sites, and there are lots of study guides, articles, and blogs that do a pretty good job of explaining the material. Keep in mind that the test assumes you have preexisting knowledge/experience equal to that of A+ and Net+, so maybe looking into some of that material might be helpful too.

I would pay very close attention to the wording of questions. Some of them are often worded to make you think it means one thing, but it actually means something different (quite common on IT cert exams, in general, not just CompTIA).

I think what is killing me is I know the material I mean i work with it almost everyday.. But these questions are pretty out there anyone I have talked to so far has admitted that this test is probably one of the worse written tests around. I am enrolled in a 3 day boot camp ive never taken on of these classes but it states 100% guarenteed Cert plus my work is reinbursing it so IDK. Anyone have any experience with these bootcamps?

Just got back from my security plus 401 boot camp through "training camp"... Let me start out by saying this company is horrible our instructor just passed the test last week with under an 800. He was teaching the class and on the practice questions was getting multiple questions wrong. Their 100% guarentee just means you can attend their classes again, but you have to pay for your own hotel stay, along with your exam voucher..... The only good thing about this class was the material was decent, and the best thing was i was able to study without distractions (i have two children, and a wife). All in all my experience was pretty terrible. I did pass the exam with the highest grade in the class with an 856, but i was literally eating, shitting, sleeping Sec +, I would have been fired from my job if i did not pass it this time. Anyway If anyone has any questions about Security + now i should be able to assist. Thank you all for your advice as well!
