So after debating the cost of the fans and having two dead ones I decided to take apart these scythe fans. battleship
had mentioned people painting the gentle typhoons so I went to work to see if I could do it. While doing so I learned
they are quite easy to disassemble despite what others claimed. Since I was able to disassemble and clean the fans
they are working again and took this time to buy some kyron spray paint for plastic and light machine oil. Took to my
mothers basement (far too dusty so I got a few specs of dirt on the fans) and got to work. 1 hour per coat, three coats per side.

This is the end result of 1 of the two tester fans...

Going to Run these now for a day or so to be sure there balanced well and don't flake. Then I will be doing the remaining
of the fans afterwards. Have my sleeving material on way as well as I stated before and should have that by months end.
Once everything is here I'll do that early spring pc clean out and some minor case mods along with the sleeving.

Total cost for sleeving mats and some paint sub 35$, quoted total for easy way out 330$ USD. Quite pleased with what I
saved and gave me something to keep busy. Will invest the saved money into some new monitors in the summer time.

Will be back with updates later when I get around to the rest of the mods.

Sleeving materials came in...

Just need to make two wood cutting bases for even shrink tubing to make cutting measuring faster now.
Also waiting on sound damping material/rubber grommets. Since my PSU is semi modular I'll pre sleeve some cables
then finish rest when the remaining materials come. Still painting 2 fans atm all the others are done.

Not sleeving all the way into psu, I do not want want to cut the frame. I have some 20mm shrink tubing for the ends into the psu.
Not really as clean as others but much easier, have to say it's coming along nicely. Anyone interested in doing this should buy the tools.
I've been using heavy duty staples and it's a real pain in the ass, some indicated any staple woks but I guess this psu has very little room
on the sides to disengage the pins (6pin/24pin/8pin cables).

Some fans I did while the blades are drying.

Tiny pic it is...

Note to anyone with a similar psu which has a plastic ring binding your cables.. You will ruin your wires very very easily if your not careful.
They are a bitch to remove with snipes and contain a metal ring which i found must be bent/twisted not cut. did minor damage to 1 8pin pci
and the 8pin cupu cable.. nothing a sodler drop/shrink tube can't fix but someone else may very easily sever the wire.

Be back in a day or two with further progress.

Make damn sure you disengage the pins before you try to remove them....
The wires require a lot of force to remove from housing and thankfully only ruined 1 pin from the whole psu.

Psu is now done just need to shrink the last of the tubing at the bottom and do the extra cables.
Will have more pics later.
