Yo if any of you have money pour it into your company of choice right now.

My picks:

AMD (record low price now)
GOOG (almost lowest price in a year)
MSFT (guaranteed to go up, usually quicker than most stocks after these mini crashes, it acts similar to INTC)
ADBE (record low)
DELL
NVDA (almost as low as it will go)

This is what people mean when they say "have your money work for you."

Hypothetically you only have 500 dollars so you buy 115 shares of AMD @ its current price 4.32.

Then you wait... And wait. Until its say 6 dollars then you sell it all and you get about 200 dollars in profit. The type of computer you can buy for 700 would obviously be much better than one for 500 or use this as like "free money" for buying Christmas gifts - these stocks will assuredly rise (probably before thanksgiving) well before Christmas.

Anyway, just thought I would pass this on. This is one of the best times to buy since the downgrade in July-August.

You could think of google stock as a 2-3 Mo. 10% CD.

How many times have you done this?
How do you go about doing this? IE what site do you go through?
This seems interesting, I have some of my tuition money for next year sitting in my bank account. AMD seems like a perfect bet with BD and 7000 series coming out, they will go up. Its just scarred people pulling out of the market right now.

exactly, if you look at the charts all stock dips whenever theres uncertainty, such as the downgrade a few months ago

I use TD Ameritrade but I hear good things about King Trade, both sites charge a commission for each time you use a sell or buy action, $10 or $5 respectively.

I've made 4 trades so far and netted this, I started after the downgrade in july

So you've made like 2.5k?

So it costs 10 bux per trade, so I could drop a g on AMD and then it would cost me 10 bux?

Is this the site: https://www.tradeking.com/

right, but if you use king trade it would only cost 5 and then another 5 when you sell the stock so 10 dollars total

pretty sure margin trading is for short sellers, for normal traders you have your cash and you buy a stock and you wait 3 days until you can use that cash again.

Lets say you buy on monday and you sell on tuesday, well you cant use those funds again until wednesday. With a margin account all your funds are like a credit card, you can buy on monday, sell on tuesday, and buy again on tuesday.

edit: you also can't just choose to have a margin account, you have to request it and pass the requirements, of which, I dont believe I pass. has to do with your job record and credit rating i think
