my pc is old
but recently while doing anything on the internet from streaming or playing games i experience lag spikes upto 10 seconds and it seems like my internet connection pauses.
Other devices around the house dont seem to be having any issues just my pc
Would it be a faulty network adapter?
I tried all the cmd commands to flush etc and reset network adapters but still seems to be occurring.
Any ideas or suggestions?
no sure if the specs below help with anything

IF all other devices are not affected, and only yours:-

I'll assume u r on wired connection and not wifi.

A faulty network cable will do that.

1. Check/Use another cable, if no issue
2. Unplug cable from router slot and use another slot, if no issue
3. Go to Event Viewer (eventvwr.msc) to see any issue with Networks/Adapter/Internet
-> Look for an error indicates for the network connection

go from here

checked that and didnt see anything about network or adapter
i brought my laptop down and ran the wifi and wired and it ran fine but my pc seems to only having the issue.

Example when im playing Diablo 4 il start teleporting and then just stop moving and after 10 seconds fly to the other side of the map if im holding teleport but then i loaded d4 and used same connection and wifi it was perfectly fine.
Ran cmd pings and there were consistent timeouts
Ran trouble shooting too

Which would mean the cable and router is fine since you've tested with laptop.

Network adapter seems to be the issue, IMO.

Maybe if u hv a spare, might wanna swap it out and see.

I would suggest getting an External USB Network adapter which are inexpensive nowadays.

I'm from Asia so I would not be able to say which adapter may suit you.

From your profile, says yr from Canada so maybe, Best Buy Canada, Amazon, Walmart, etc..

Good luck!
