My work setup has my work laptop connected to 2 separate monitors.
One works perfectly fine but the 2nd monitor keeps going black and reverting and i have to drag my applications back over to the 2nd monitor.
Its all connected through a thinkpad docking station

I've checked the hdmi cables and they are all fine.


Anyone have an idea on what's going on?

When you say you have checked the hdmi cables and they are fine, how have you checked them?

Also, have you tried swapping which ports each monitor is plugged into? To see if the one that keeps going black will switch to the other monitor?

i tried the hdmi cable on my gaming monitor and no blackout and changed the ports around but it still keeping happening so i switched to 1 monitor and my laptop for now and no issue.

Have you rebooted your docking station? I’d assume if the monitor works fine when not plugged into the docking station, then the dock may be failing
