I installed Windows on a new SSD, but I need your help.
Prior to the installation, I was wondering if I had to format it, so I searched on google and found some articles with people mentioning that it was necessary to do it, while some other websites said that it’s not necessary and that the installation process would take care of it.
Then I found an article with a step by step guide and decided to follow it. The installation was Windows 10 done on a sealed Kingston SSD to be more specific.
There was a step where I had to choose which drive I wanted to use, but the “format” option was grayed out, and that drive had the same size of the SSD itself, and it was the only choice available. I could click on “new”, but I decided to click on next to see what other options were available, but then the installation began right away. I didn’t think it would start that quick, and I thought the “next” would bring me to the next steps and eventually to a “begin installation now” or something, but it wasn’t the case, so of course I wasn’t going to stop it.
While installing, I tried to look for more articles and found another one where someone suggested to click on “new” at the drive selection. So I’m just wondering if I missed a step to make my SSD perform better.
Now the question is:
Should I reinstall Windows by selecting the “new” option on the drive or am I just fine with this installation done so far?
Thanks.
