i have some crappy 3rd party wireless ISP. they've sent me a new SIM card and a note to change the ATcmd line.
-done. ez pz. took 1min.

internet became extremely horrible. i attempted manual changing and setting towers, as the auto can be an issue sometimes. no luck with any tower.

i took the new SIM card out and put the old one back in, and tried putting in the old ATcmd line. no internet...
i put the new SIM card back in, again... but kept the old ATcmd line. works like it used to.

so... it appears that the new ATcmd line is an issue, and not the SIMcard itself. i'll be calling on Monday to try and work things out, but until them i'm kind of curious about the incident.

like... tf is going on? the only suggestion on the letter is to reset the modem if it's not working. and that doesn't work.
albeit a bit early to start freaking out but, i'm kind of afraid i'm going to be forced into a situation that destroys my internet usability.

i don't really need a full cover of how everything works, but if you have some small knowledge bombs to drop about the topic... drop away

Well what are the old and new lines? They in general are supposed to negotiate things like baud rate, frequency preference, login to network (PIN) etc.
