My 4930k is still going strong but if I ever want a Windows 11 PC I need to upgrade CPUs. Sheeeeesh.

The drag and drop update for pictures is amazing by the way.

Might be building another PC in the future. ^_^

Windows 10 end of life is October 14, 2025, you have plenty of time left. With that said, there are plenty of ways you can bypass the arbitrary W11 requirements. Creating a bootable usb media with Rufus, being one.

I've tested W11 on my ancient 5930K numerous times, without any issues (outside of W11 being absolute garbage, regardless of hardware specs, of course). This CPU also isn't on the supported list, just like yours.

damn, wish my cpu would say that. ain't touching 11 with a ten foot pole. even if it had 25000 fg dangling at the end of it

i still think 7 was the best, especially in terms of aero theme/ui and functionality. however i upgraded to 10 just for WSL (def worth it!)

Dont bother with win11, its trash.... Tons of Microsoft keyloggers built into the programing that this time harder to disable... numerous issues with gaming.. Keep windows 10 on a bootle usb and just use that.

You can install Windows 11 on unsupported hardware using Rufus and a flash drive, it functions just fine as Windows 10.
