Hi,
I recently built a new PC with a Sapphire Nitro 7900 XTX card.
It has 3 PCIE slots. PSU I bought (MSI MPG A1000G) only came with 2 PCIE cables.
So currently I have both cables hooked up and the second cable I plugged in the second connector into the 3rd slot on the card ("daisy chained")
So I have been doing basic research....seems each cable is ok for 150 W and board provides 75 W.....so 375 W with only 2 cables?
I have been watching the power draw from the XTX and have seen it go over the 375 with no issue thus far, but dont want long term issues. It did come with a 600W(16 pin) cable also, but Im not sure if OK to mix with regular PCIE?
If I do need a 3rd PCIE cable, how do I make sure its compatible with the power supply? I cant seem to find extras for sale on MSI website.
Thanks in advance for any help/ideas.
Also, Merry Christmas!
